Question: I have a 95 Mitsubishi Galant that just had a its transmission replaced at 90,000 mi. Whenever I am slowing to a full stop , I sometimes hear and feel a thud in the engine. The folks that installed the new transmission told me not to worry and that it was just a loose mounting bracket. Should I worry?

- Redford S.
Answer: Thanks for your inquiry. The noise could be a mount. This should be inspected for looseness as you describe a definite problem. Something is not right. As far as danger, there are built in safety links so your engine/transmission is not going to fall out. I would recommend returning to the transmission shop as this may be covered by your warranty.

Question: Hello. I have a 1994 Buick Century, 3.1L V6, 102,000 miles. When I travel on highway for a while at 65 MPH, then approach traffic and slow down. When I try to resume speed the engine seems to hesitate and I practically have to put the pedal to the floor to get back up to speed. After some bucking and hesitating, eventually car seems to \"snap out of it\" and continues on OK. I have changed air filter. Spark plugs haven\'t been changed for a while, maybe 25-30k miles ago. Any ideas on what may be causing this? Thank you

Answer: Chuck, thank you for your question. Sorry it took a while to get back to you
but I was away for a little R&R for a few days.

Testing of your vehicle would need to be done, but two items come to mind.
First the transmission lock-up convertor may not be disengaging or second,
the electric fuel pump may be at minimum pressures. These are two totally
different areas to be checked but both would cause the same symptoms
