Question: WE HAVE 99 TOYOTA SOLARA V6. SINCE AWHILE IT JUST LOST THE POWER, IT BUGS. WHEN YOU PRESS GAS IT ACTUALLY WILL NOT GO FASTER UNLESS YOU FLOOR IT AND IT STILL SEEMS LIKE NO POWER. WHEN YOU PRESS GAS PEDAL FAST FROM START IT WILL ACTUALLY BACK FIRE. WHAT MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM? THE CHECK ENGINE IS ON AND SOMETIMES IT BLINKS WHICH I KNOW IT SOUNDS BAD, BUT WE STILL DRIVE IT.
- Marcin
Answer: The problem may be fuel related. A fuel pump or fuel filter may be the
cause. The "CHECK ENGINE" light flashing means there is a condition that
may be causing damage to the catalytic converter (this is expensive). The
on-board computer needs to be accessed and check stored codes to find the
area of faults. From that point tests of those coded areas should find the
answer. Thank you.

Question: I have a chrysler 3oom 2002 and it seems to shift out of gear whenever I go over this particular speed bump in my neighborhood. I can go over any other speed bump and the car is fine but once i start the car up and go over the second speed bump it shifts out of gear and it is only when i am heading out of the neighborhood.
- Shay
Answer: Shay, This problem could be caused by loose or worn motor and or trans
mounts. Just the right amount of movement might pull the shifter out of
position. There was nothing in "IDENTIFIX" relating to the symptoms. An
inspection of the shift linkage should be done to diagnose.

Question: I have a 2002 Olds Bravada awd. On slippery conditions, the front wheels don't engage. I have read that this is a common problem. I'm not sure what to replace. It could be a few different things. How can I find out for sure?
- Mike
Answer: Mike, Thanks for the question. The Olds Bravada 4WD has two items with a
high probability of failure. That is the "Transfer case control module" and
the "Transfercase shift motor". This system can be tested to find the
problem. There is a charge for diagnoise relating to time of testing.
